Best Posting Times
Sundays 7-9 PM get 40% more views. Weekday evenings (6-8 PM) are second best. Avoid mornings — buyers browse after work/school.
Title Keywords
Put brand name first. Include size, color, and item type. Vinted search is keyword-based — "Zara Black Blazer Size M" beats "Nice blazer for sale". Max ~60 chars.
Bump Strategy
Bump items every 3-4 days. Bumping during peak hours (Sun evening) is most effective. Vinted's algorithm favors recently-updated listings.
Photo Rules
First photo = bright, clean flat-lay or hanger shot on plain background. Upload 4-5 photos: full item, close-up details, label/tag, any flaws. Natural daylight only.
Description Formula
Line 1: What it is (brand + item + condition). Line 2: Key details (material, measurements). Line 3: Why buy it (styling tip or compliment). Line 4: Shipping/bundle mention.
Pricing Psychology
Price 10-15% above your minimum — buyers expect to negotiate. Use .50 endings (€14.50) instead of round numbers. Mention "price includes fees" to seem fair.
Title: 1x each keyword
Don't stuff. One mention of brand, item type, size, condition is enough. "Zara Blazer Black M" — not "Zara Blazer Zara Black Blazer M".
Description: 2-3x naturally
Mention key terms (brand, item type) 2-3 times in description, woven into natural sentences. Search algorithms detect spam — keep it readable.
Tags: Cover synonyms
Use tags for alternate search terms buyers might use. "jeans" + "denim" + "trousers" + "pants". Think about what someone would type to find your item.
The 72-Hour Rule
Most sales happen within the first 72 hours of listing. If no sale in 3 days, adjust price by 5-10% or update the first photo. Fresh listings get algorithmic priority.
Anchoring Effect
Mention the original retail price in your description. "Originally €89, selling for €25" makes the deal feel irresistible. Works especially well for branded items.
Bundle Offers
Mention "Check my other listings — bundle discount available!" in every description. Bundles increase average order value by 35% and reduce per-item shipping costs.
Urgency Without Desperation
"Moving soon, clearing wardrobe" or "Last few from my collection" creates urgency. Avoid "MUST SELL FAST" — it signals desperation and invites lowballers.
Social Proof
If you've sold similar items, mention it: "Sold 3 of these already, this is the last one." Build your seller rating — respond within 1 hour to all messages.
Description Frameworks
AIDA: Attention (first line hook) → Interest (features) → Desire (styling tips, value) → Action ("Message me for bundle deals!").
Problem-Solution: "Looking for a warm winter coat that's actually stylish? This [brand] coat does both."
Response Speed
Reply to messages within 30 minutes during active hours. Fast responders sell 3x more on Vinted. Set up notification alerts on your phone for the marketplace apps.
Do
- Use natural daylight (near a window)
- Clean, uncluttered background (white/cream)
- Show the item from multiple angles
- Photograph labels, tags, and brand marks
- Include a close-up of fabric texture
- Iron/steam clothes before photographing
- For books: show spine, cover, and page edges
Don't
- Use flash or harsh artificial light
- Photograph on messy beds or floors
- Use heavy filters or color adjustments
- Crop out defects or damage
- Use stock images or images from the web
- Photograph wrinkled or bunched-up clothes
- Upload blurry or dark photos
The "Scroll-Stopper" First Photo
Your first image appears in search results as a tiny thumbnail. It must be instantly recognizable: centered item, high contrast against background, no text overlays. Test by looking at the photo from arm's length — can you tell what the item is?

Vinted: Every 3-4 Days
Edit the listing slightly (swap photo order, tweak a word in description) to trigger a "recently updated" boost. Best done Sunday 7-9 PM or weekday 6-8 PM.
OLX: Every 2-3 Days
Use OLX's built-in "Refresh" button during peak hours. If the listing is stale (7+ days), consider re-listing with a new title variation for a fresh start.
When to Drop the Price
If a listing has 50+ views but no messages after 5 days, the price is the problem. Drop by 10-15%. If it has low views, the title or photos need work instead.
Stale Listing Recovery
After 14 days with no sale: take new photos, rewrite the title with different keywords, adjust price, and re-list as a new item. This resets the algorithm entirely.
